Things were simple years ago when a pair of Levis 501s could classify as fashionable. Then came the skinny jeans, and to cross the border of grotesque..the man leggings, or to make it fancy – “meggings”.

It seemed as though the women’s legging industry women’s industry was going nowhere that the easy way to create new trends was to equip them with beautiful, gifted male bodies with perfectly shaped legs and send it down the catwalk, and someday expect us to buy them.

Sure enough, the guys in Melbourne have caught the megging fever. “Young men were busy trying on ladies leggings and pairing them with oversized tees and button-down shirts” quoted the spokeswoman of former Brisbane label Limedrop.

Actor and comedian Russell Brand has been spotting his pair of Sass & Bide ruched leggings (made for ladies!) before we could even say “crotchtastic”.
